The nightly rounds required of Hogwarts' Head Girl and Boy are far from the chore they might seem.

Everything hurts.

This is how Chase wakes up, ever since the anesthesia wore off and the pain of having a surgical blade shoved into your ribs comes screaming at you, trying to vault over the help of the morphine. It hurts and for a few selfish seconds, Chase thinks that maybe he'd trade the use of his legs if the pain would go away.

After the stabbing, Chase has been fairly out of it, but he didn't think he was on strong enough drugs to hallucinate a complete change in scenery.

Finnick kept expecting for the bottom to drop out. It was hard to believe that this wasn't a charade. He'd seen plenty of devious plans hatched and carried out in the Capitol, and there were certainly many that had this sort of longevity and creativity. But this lacked a certain level of cruelty that he had always been able to taste before. If it had been an arena, the need for blood would have won out long ago. No, this was something else. Maybe it was safety. Finnick wasn't ready to believe that yet.

Still, he had decided to lower his guard a little. It helped marginally that both Johanna and Katniss were here; if something was going to happen to him, it was going to happen to all three of them, and if there were any other Victors he wanted at his side, it was the two of them.

As it was, there was little else he could do. If the Capitol was playing a trick, they were holding out the cards. So, Finnick decided to enjoy the hotel. It was nice enough. Certainly on par with some of the nicer ones in the Capitol, although perhaps lacking the gaudier decorations.

He liked being out in the gardens, because he rarely saw anything resembled nature in the Capitol. But, without a doubt, his favorite area was the pool. There still was something unnatural about swimming indoors, but it was calming all the same to do lap after lap and just hear the quiet of the building surrounding him.

That's where he was at the moment, stripped to just his skin except for Annie's necklace, which was still tied securely about his neck. He treaded water for a moment before launching himself forward, heading back toward the shallow end of the pool again.

Peter had arrived at the hotel a few days ago in full Spider-man costume. At first, he thought he'd been abducted by someone out to get Spidey. After changing out of his costume and back into regular clothing thanks to the backpack he carried everywhere, he'd figured out that wasn't the case. In fact, as far as he could tell, this had nothing to do with Spider-man at all. He'd stayed in the shadows, sneaking about and finding out what he could about the place. He knew about the doors. He knew about outside and he knew that eventually he might find a door that led back home. With that in mind, he'd been busily opening all the doors he could find to no avail. If there was a door home, he hadn't found it yet.

He had found the door to Jurassic Park. That'd been dangerous, exciting and once the novelty of dinosaurs had worn off, he'd been in a hurry to get out of there. He'd seen the film. He knew there was no way that would end well. Besides, while he knew about the doors, he wasn't sure how long the doors stayed open. That wasn't a world he wanted to get trapped in.

Fresh from Jurassic Park world, Peter Parker was skateboarding down the hallways of the hotel. Honestly, he could think of no better place to do so. However, not everyone agreed as evidenced by the grumbling that occasionally followed him.

"Sorry!" he yelled out as he narrowly (and probably spider-tastically) avoided a man carrying a load of towels down to the laundry. His apology was met with something that sounded very like 'dang kids these days'. He looked back over his shoulder at the man and when he looked forward again, he was on a collision course with someone else.

Think quick!
