Obi-Wan was not the sort of man to shirk from something he was frightened of but this latest development was vexing and troubling to him. Upon encountering the door that, apparently, changed his gender he had tried on several occasions (under a cloak, mind) to change it back. His new form wasn't exactly displeasing in any way but it wasn't his and therefore it was a problem that had to be addressed.

Or, barring that, one to drown in alcohol until he was so drunk that he could forget about it. Since the former hadn't worked and he didn't have enough access to scientific equipment to work on changing his current nature, alcohol was simply going to have to numb his brain until he could find the strength to face his current situation.

He guessed the one saving grace of Jedi garb was the fact that it was intentionally gender neutral. Aside from size, his robes and tunics were exactly the same as those that would have been provided to a female knight and he felt like he would simply dress in them until the situation corrected itself; Obi-Wan was not keen on the idea of having to seek out a dress to wear while temporarily in possession of breasts.

He tried to think about how Qui-Gon would approach this situation through the living Force but everything was coming up blank. "Qui-Gon probably would have laughed and found someone to spend the day with," he muttered, staring at his woefully-empty glass. He lifted it to get the bartender to pour him another and pulled his cloak around him a little tighter, hoping to avoid notice.

Obi-Wan wasn't entirely sure that this was the most productive course of action.

Robes are generally not the preferred dress at the bar, but Chase doesn't pay much mind to them until he takes a closer look and realizes that he recognizes those robes. He does a double-take and the first thing his mind goes to is a little jealous reminder that he and Obi-Wan had never said they'd be exclusive or anything, but parading around in another man's robes is a bit more than he'd expected to be confronted with.

He approaches the bar and lifts his hand for a drink, steadfastly and stubbornly staring forward, ignoring how beautiful the woman is and how he definitely would have gone there, too.

Obi-Wan might be lost in his own thoughts but that didn't mean he couldn't tell when Rob entered the room. For a telepath, a Jedi especially, a close friend or lover was like a beacon of light in the dark and it shook him out of his particular mood and put him in a different one entirely - panic.

Why didn't he think to cloak himself to keep anyone from noticing him? He could try to mind trick him but Obi-Wan didn't think that was really the right thing to do to one's lover.

"You can forget you ever saw me like this, right? I ran into the door. The one that flips everything around."

Suddenly, Chase feels like both the world's biggest and most confused idiot. He'd never thought to imagine this is Obi-Wan because, well, how could it be? It's a beautiful woman and men don't just ... except, that the first time they met, they were living some alternate life with each other in a Sydney where giant lizards wanted to kill them.

"I thought maybe you'd slept with him," Chase blurts out, not exactly Mr. Tactful. "When did this happen?"

"Well, I did sleep with him," Obi-Wan said, lifting a hand and exhaling in annoyance when, yet again, his sleeve slid down past his hand and flopped uselessly. He did not make a very tall woman.

"But he is me, so, it's not what you think."

Chase is still a bit tangled up in how this is possible. He's a man of reason and science and yes, okay, some religion, but only in the part of his life that he's basically denied and covered up for so many years. "Okay, so you didn't let some woman run away with your robes after a one night stand. You are the woman in your robes," he says carefully. "This is still really weird and you're ... really hot," he admits.

"I haven't looked too closely," Obi-Wan admitted. "I've mostly just wanted my own body to come back and decided to just ignore this one temporarily. So...it's not going to be a problem with us if I'm stuck for a little while?"

It had been a concern, after his initial discomfort with this new body, that Chase wouldn't be interested in this particular form of his.

Chase stares a little while longer, wishing he weren't searching for lines and curves in those robes. Instead, he gives Obi-Wan a quick jolt of a nod when he comes back to himself. "I'm definitely bisexual," he promises, choosing not to highlight how many people he'd slept with in the last year, after his accident. "Aren't you uncomfortable in those things? I genuinely mean that, not as a come on," he hastens to add.

"They're meant to be unisex," Obi-Wan said, looking at the excessive length of his sleeve. "Unfortunately, I am a good six inches shorter as a woman and my sleeves and trousers are too long. Do you have a suggestion to remedy the situation?"

This, at least, was paired with his trademark smirk but Obi-Wan wasn't sure if it came off looking the same without his regular face.

Chase knows this is probably the start to a porno, but he feels a bit guilty about taking advantage of Obi-Wan in this situation, at least until they get him comfortably set up. "Maybe you could borrow one of my t-shirts? A pair of shorts?" Chase isn't so broad that they'd hang off him (her?), so it might be a bit of an improvement.

"Or we could buy something from the shop? Or chance a door?"

"I'll just borrow one of yours. I'm not chancing getting stuck beyond a door without my own body. What if we ran into trouble? I've never trained in this body, I don't know that I would be as agile as usual," Obi-Wan said.

"It would be just my luck to get us both killed because I don't know how to fight around my own breasts."

"I'd say I could protect you, but unless we're in some kind of specific medical emergency, I don't know how much good I'd do," Chase admits, nodding with his head. "C'mon, let's get you something that fits a bit better." And if they happen to fall into Chase's bed, beside his wardrobe, then it'll just be a happy result of circumstance, won't it?

He even goes so far as to offer his hand out, to tug him along.

Obi-Wan took his hand and sighed when he saw how small his looked in Chase's. Everything about this body was too small, too delicate and simply not right. Still, if Chase was all right with it, Obi-Wan felt like he could put up with it temporarily.

"Anything is bound to fit better than what I have currently in my closet. Lead the way?"

Chase tugs him along, still trying to reconcile himself with all of this, even if none of it makes much sense to him. "Here we go," he says, trying to be chipper and positive, though he's fairly lost in truth. "Did it hurt? The physical change?" he asks, leaning on the medicine when nothing else makes sense.

"Qui-Gon sounds like a very wise man," Chiana noted, amused, as she leaned against the counter, watching the woman curiously. "What's got you so down in the plok-holes?"

Obi-Wan snorted slightly and looked at his empty glass. "I am currently in possession of a body that is not my own. It has put me in a predicament."

He pushed back his hood and tried not to feel like a child swimming in his father's clothes. "Nothing I own fits."

Chiana grinned as she took in her measure. Yeah, she wasn't wrong. "You make a habit of body-hoppin', or...?" Nothing was too fahzbot for this place.

"No, this is the first time it has happened. I might be a little more inclined to find it amusing if it weren't me," Obi-Wan admitted readily enough. "From a scientific standpoint, it's remarkable a chance encounter with a door could produce this issue. But since it is me and I miss my own body, I'm not ready to be objective about it yet."

Right, not actually body-hopping, then. Chiana nodded in understanding; she remembered Luther. She smiled at the memory, and asked, "You're not originally a guy, are ya?"

"I am," Obi-Wan said, staring at his excessively small hands in a vain hope that just concentrating very hard would make him suddenly have his own body once again.

"Everything seems to work correctly, it's just not me. I don't know what to do about it."

"'Wait it out' is your only option, I think," Chiana answered, from what she'd seen, anyway. It wasn't as if it had ever happened to her, after all - and that was a shame. She'd welcome the opportunity to experience a variety of things from the male perspective. "Might as well make the most of it," she added, with a bright smile.

"My lover might have an issue with it," Obi-Wan reflected. "That is something I would like to avoid if at all possible. I actually have a decently happy life here, all things told."

That life did not involve things like changing genders spontaneously and he wasn't entirely sure how to go about explaining that to Chase. Maybe he could just avoid him until everything sorted itself out.

"Make the most of it with them?" Chiana pointed out, an easy solution to something that didn't seem like much of a problem.

"You're an optimistic sort," Obi-Wan said, snorting lightly. "Then again, it takes all sorts. I'm sorry, but I didn't catch your name earlier. Would you indulge me?"

"Someone's got to," Chiana replied with a smile, and a short chuckle. "I'm Chiana."

"Chiana," he said, rolling the name around on his tongue.

"Lovely name. Which system do you come from, Chiana? I don't think I recognize your species."
