Most of the chairs have been removed from the Dining Hall to allow for ballroom-style dancing to the orchestra set up on the far end of the room. A polished cherry wood open bar is aligned along one wall. The adjacent Bistro is open for the duration of the formal reception, serving gourmet hors d'oeuvres.

Downstairs, the basement's largest storeroom has been converted into a spooky nightclub, complete with DJ, dance floor and cocktails.

"Me? I leave," Danny says with a shrug. He knows it'd be cruel to rub it in anyone's face, but he currently has no issue opening a door and getting out of here. Maybe it's some universal apology for how the custody battle went down with Rachel.

"So, for fun, you just go back to your life?" Because that seems like an odd way to have fun. But, what does he know, he's stuck.

"When you barely get custody of your kid, you go back to spend as much time as you can with her," he points out. "Besides, there's people there I don't have here. Sometimes, home is the place to be."

"Can you bring her here?" He's been told by most people that time 'back home' stands still, so wouldn't bringing his kid here give him almost unlimited time with her?

"I tried, once," Danny admits. "She sort of stopped at the door, like she wasn't admitted because she didn't meet some kind of rule." Or the universe just hates Danny that much more, he actually doesn't know.

"Seriously?" Harvey growls in disbelief. "That's bullshit." He isn't sure what else to say on the matter, because, really, bullshit is about all he's got.

"Who did you piss off in a past life?" Not that Harvey believes all that much in karma, but for the world to shit on you that much, something must've happened.

"That's the question I ask myself every day," Danny promises, faintly bemused that he's not the only one who's aware of how screwed he's been in the course of his life.

Harvey shakes his head. "You should kick the world in the balls and bring your kid through anyway. Though, I have no idea how that would even work." He's not sure that it should work. He's not sure of much of anything with regards to this wacky place, to be perfectly honest.
