"Motherfff..."

Isaac figures this has to be some kind of retribution or revenge or something that the universe is conspiring against him because he's been avoiding Beacon Hills to try not to cope with the weird shit and instead, it happens to him here, again. After the last time he'd spent a few weeks as a girl, he's pretty sure it's the one thing that makes him distrust the hotel and maybe the one thing that makes him think that hiding out here isn't as safe as he wants to think it is and yeah, maybe he should go home.

Right now, though, he's coping with the fact that he'd jogged inside from his run, walked through the front door, of all places, and suddenly his clothes are too big again and the hair is all over his face and one quick glance down shows him yup, he's got a rack again.

Isaac tips his head to the ceiling, frustration singing through him as he wonders why the hell he can't just get a normal sign from the universe, like a signed note or something. Hell, even a voicemail would've been nice, but instead he's got to deal with this.

Letting out a frustrated breath, Isaac hikes his way to the nearest sofa and sits down so he can bend over to retie the sneakers that are suddenly way too big for his feet. He'd wandered in and out of the front door, but nothing. At this point, he's wondering if maybe the only thing that will let him go back to normal is going back to Beacon Hills.

He needs to find the door first and right now, he needs to fix his shoes and get a ridiculous amount of hair out of his face. He blows strands of it out of his eyes with the force of sheer frustration, blinking rapidly when his vision clears and he finds that he's so not alone.

"Uh, hey?" Isaac offers, peering down and slapping a hand to his chest when his tank top is way more revealing than it was when he left for his run. Cheeks flushed red, he lets out another vivid curse under his breath and slumps back against the padded couch. "I'm not trying to flash you, I swear."

Three weeks. Scott winces in sympathy at the thought because, wow, talk about things sucking, especially considering that Isaac might not have had anyone else from home around at all. And that makes him take the whole situation more seriously: Scott's the support he has, so he'd better act like it.

The admission makes him blink, though, surprised.

"You want to go back home?"

"Yeah, but — " is as far as Scott gets before stopping himself with a frown.

When Isaac had first talked about staying here, wanting it over going home, it'd sounded kind of weird to Scott. Like, if that was Isaac's choice then he respected and stood by it. But home is home, right? An interdimensional space hotel isn't really the kind of place he'd choose over Beacon Hills. Scott hasn't thought about it since, but he is now; and the weirdest part is, he has gotten used to this place. Sure, he'll never get used to opening a door and finding himself in some part of history or space or changed like Isaac has been. Sure, he misses his mom, and Stiles, and his boss, and a ton of other people — a lot, every day.

But he doesn't miss the danger. He doesn't miss the ever-present fear of Deucalion and the other alphas, and of the darach, and of psycho hunters, and always being afraid of another attack or murder or both. He'd told Stiles once that he just wanted a semi-freaking-normal life, talked to Allison about what if he could find a cure, but he doesn't talk like that anymore because he gets what a stupid dream that is.

Except now a semi-freaking-normal life has fallen into his lap, and he didn't even realize it until now.

He lets Isaac change the topic, though, as surprised by this revelation as Isaac would probably be if he actually voiced it. If Isaac wants to go home, then he should go home, and Scott doesn't have any business stopping him or even refusing himself.

Besides, the whole being a girl thing is kind of a bigger problem.

"You said you have clothes in your room, right? Let's go."

"Pretty prepared," Scott offers. Not that he'd want to trade positions with Isaac in this case, but at least they don't have to do any awkward emergency shopping. They'd definitely need Allison's help with that, though the thought makes him miss Lydia. Weird as it all is, she'd probably jump at the opportunity to get them all dressed up.

Scott has to laugh at the suggestion, but only for about a second before he shakes his head. "Don't worry about it. Uh, honestly, I'd be more worried about the wall."

But let's not get into all the property damage he caused before he really got control of the wolf.

That's — scary, actually. Scott can't help worrying about the newer wolves' control, since he remembers all too well how hard it was for him to learn it.

"What about your anchor?" he asks, following Isaac into his room. "Did Derek ever talk to you about that?"

He grabs his jacket when Isaac tosses it his way, putting it on as Isaac goes to change too.

"Uh," he says, laughs slightly, "if we see Stiles around here, I promise not to tell him?"

It's definitely a question, because he's used to telling Stiles about everything. But if it'd bother Isaac — and Stiles is a lot less likely to let him live this down than say, Derek or Scott or even Allison.

"Your anchor is your dad?"

It doesn't even occur to Scott to try reining in that disbelief.
