Safety is something that never crosses Cinderella's mind. She's always been safe in her little village and she's never experienced anything unsafe. She has experienced unkindness, of course, but never any true threats to her safety.
"That's a comfort," she says gently. "I should like to be somewhere safe, if I cannot be at home. Is there a king, or anything? Or a market? How do we get food and beds and all those sorts of things? I'm a hard worker."
