There was a beat of silence before a burst of low, soft chuckles as she shifted the book to be held against her chest, her arms crossed over the back of it to hold it securely there. It felt cool against the skin bared by the V of exposed skin above her shirt collar, but the leather warmed quickly enough that she was able to forget about it within seconds.
