"No wings," Sam says ruefully. "I'm still trying to get them repaired. It's a slow go, since we don't have all the resources of the US government here." And, well, that situation is complicated back home too - the hotel is a lot more stable.

The humidity in the jungle is cloying and Sam is already breathing heavily. He doesn't know how far they should try to circle around before making their way back to the door - neither of them have supplies for a long stay.

"Want to try to find some water? We can see if the door is safe and make our way back afterward."
