"I don't know," Buffy answers honestly. Dawn is too smart to take platitudes and they've been through too much for Buffy to give them to her.

"I will find out though. I will fix it and you'll be okay." She pulls back to look at her when she says this. She wants Dawn to believe it for the measure of comfort it will give her. She hopes that Dawn knows she will turn over the entire world if that's what it takes to figure this out.
